Color Guard
The Tyler Legacy HS Color Guard is an award-winning program of excellence. Being involved in this rewarding activity provides teenagers with the benefits of work ethic, time management, self-esteem, friendship, and fun.
Modern Color Guard is a combination of flags, sabers, mock rifles, and other equipment, as well as dance and other interpretive movements. Our High School Guard programs have worked hard to become a known talent, and our members are extremely dedicated in their commitment to excellence.
We would like to continue to grow our program by building community awareness and participation, and that starts with you!
Summer & Fall
The High School color guard rehearses and performs with the Tyler Legacy High School Red Raider Marching Band. This well known, award-winning marching band is currently 200+ members.
Rehearsals begin in July, and the season continues through the beginning of November, culminating at the University Interscholastic League (UIL) Marching Contest.
Winter Guard
In November, the program focus turns to Winter Guard. Winter Guard concentrates on performing indoors and competing against other color guard teams. Winter guards can be found in high schools, middle schools, some universities, and some independent organizations.
The Cedar Park Guard program supports 2 ensembles: high school JV and high school Varsity guards. The structure of our program allows us to provide varying levels of guard experience to our members.
We create all new shows for our Winter season. Our Units compete in two winter guard circuits similar to marching band: a local called North Texas Color Guard Association (NTCA) and an International circuit called Winter Guard International (WGI).
